Meditative (Charging) Magic
This form of magic is charged up over time and doesn't cap, however it charges very slowly compared to regular Mages.
The Meditation skill is required.
Neither Magery nor Power Investiture is required, but without a Discipline of Faith energy accumulation is limited to half rate via Studying Sacred Books.
For each full day spent meditating (requiring the Meditation skill) you gain 1 energy point. (equivalent to 200 hours of study)
Study Sacred Books for 2 days you gain 1 energy point. (equivalent to self-teaching)
Living a good life full of commitment to ethical teachings for 4 days you gain 1 energy point. (equivalent to on-the-job-training)
Intensive Meditation may also be available (up to GM, equivalent to Intensive Training). Complete isolation from everyday life, every waking moment spent in meditation. Requires a daily Meditation check and the Mystic must have Will 12+ to undertake the regimen. For each day you gain 4 energy points.
A Major Virtuous act defined by the rules of the Mystic's religion (or whatever system this is) can "acquire merit" and gain 25 energy points.
Spells and enchantments work as usual, but energy reserves are not usually spent lightly.
Point Debt
Energy that a Mystic does not have can be spent, but every -125 energy points spent gets converted into a -5 point Disadvantage.
- This Disadvantage can be cleansed through continuous effort, but leaves behind a permanent quirk. (usually related to the type of magic that caused it).
This could also be used to represent the use of magic slowly warping the user with use (if they have no way to Meditate and cleanse themselves).
