Making Camp
Survival Roll, at penalty depending on terrain type.
- Crit Success, Serendipity (M) adv. Or spending a CP gets you all 3 benefits below.
- Success gives 2.
- Failure gets 1.
Benefits: - Comfort:
- A moderately pleasant campsite that lets everyone get a good nights sleep.
- Not picking this means everyone loses 1 FP, or 2 in arctic or mountain terrain.
- This FP loss can only be restored if the party spends a night at a campsite that does have the comfort option.
- If you lack a bedroll (or extra warmth, like sleeping furs in arctic terrain), you must use up two benefits to claim comfort!
- Concealment:
- You gain a second chance to spot night time visitors, have a +1 to your Camouflage skill, and enemies have -1 to their Vision!
- Lines of Sight:
- Enemies must approach over open ground, giving +1 to Per or Observation. Intruders have a -1 to their Stealth score.
A night without shelter is as bad as a night without a comfortable campsite, and the penalties stack!
- You can make a lean-to for yourself with a successful Survival roll.
