Armor Sets are adjusted to have the same DR everywhere for roughly the right amount of cost and weight.

Shields DX-Easy - They only apply from the front, and can be used to attack.
Their Defense Bonus is for any Dodge, Block, or Parry against an attack from the front, or the Shield side.
Bucklers actually need to be held instead of strapped to arm, but only take 1 Ready action to equip, and can be discarded freely.

Shield Rush: As a Slam, but add Defense Bonus to your damage roll.

Damage to Shields (Optional Rule)
If the shield's Defense makes the difference between getting hit or not it takes the damage.
If no damage penetrates, you experience full knockback.
If damage penetrates it can become useless, or even destroyed.
Shields act as Cover, cover DR being DR+(HP/4).

Damage to Armor (Optional Rule)
Find HP for a piece of armor (or total armor) here: HP & DR of Objects & Cover

Less than 1/3 of HP left: the armor gives half its original DR and loses the -1 penalty to target chinks in it.

0 HP or less: roll vs HT 12 every second to see if it falls off. on a crit fail it hangs awkwardly and gives -1 DX, or restricts limb as if crippled.
